Privacy policy

This policy applies to the website busassistent.de. The Bus Linie Navi app has its own privacy policy, available in the app and at busassistent.de/policy/en.html.

2. Summary

• We do not use cookies or cross-site tracking.
• We serve fonts and images ourselves; no data is sent to Google Fonts.
• Visitor statistics are collected without cookies and without storing IP addresses.
• We only use data from forms to handle your request.

3. Hosting and server log files

The website is hosted by [hosting provider, registered office, server location in the EU]. When a page is requested, the server processes technically necessary data: IP address, date and time, requested page, referrer, browser and operating system. This is necessary to deliver the website securely and reliably (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR). Log files are deleted after [e.g. 7] days. We have a data processing agreement with the provider under Art. 28 GDPR.

4. Forms: “City missing?” and demo request

When you submit a form, we process the data you enter:

• City missing? City, optionally operator and route, email address.
• Demo request: name, work email address, operator, number of buses, country and, if used, the values from the savings calculator.

We use this data only to handle your request and to contact you about it (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR, pre-contractual measures, or Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR, legitimate interest in answering). We only send marketing emails with your explicit consent.

To prevent abuse, we store a cryptographic hash of your IP address (HMAC-SHA256 with a secret key) together with the request. The IP address itself is not stored. The hash is used only to limit requests to five per day per connection (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR).

Form data is stored on our server at [server provider, location] and deleted once the request has been handled and no statutory retention obligations apply, at the latest after [e.g. 24] months.

5. Visitor statistics with Plausible Analytics

We measure how often pages are viewed and buttons are clicked using Plausible Analytics (Plausible Insights OÜ, Tartu, Estonia; servers in the EU). Plausible does not set cookies and does not store IP addresses. Visitors are counted using a daily changing value that cannot be traced back. The legal basis is our legitimate interest in data-minimising analysis of website use (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR). As no information is stored on or read from your device, no consent under § 25 TDDDG is required.

6. Fonts

The fonts used on this website are loaded from our own server. No connection is made to servers of Google or other providers.

7. Links to the App Store and Google Play

The “App Store” and “Google Play” buttons are simple links. Only when you click them are you taken to the respective provider (Apple Inc. or Google Ireland Ltd.), whose privacy policy then applies.

8. Contact by email

If you email us, we process your details to answer your request (Art. 6(1)(b) or (f) GDPR).

9. Your rights

You have the right of access (Art. 15), rectification (Art. 16), erasure (Art. 17), restriction of processing (Art. 18), data portability (Art. 20) and to object to processing based on legitimate interests (Art. 21 GDPR). You can withdraw consent at any time with effect for the future. An email to support@busassistent.de is sufficient.

You can also lodge a complaint with a data protection supervisory authority, for example the Independent Centre for Privacy Protection Schleswig-Holstein (ULD), Holstenstraße 98, 24103 Kiel, Germany.

10. Changes

We update this policy when the website or the legal situation changes. The version published here applies.
